Nitric acid plant. "Grande Paroisse Bi-Pression" process. (GPN)

- Operation on turbo group Aescher-Wyss/Oerlikon with a steam turbine, NOX gas turbine, NOX gas compressor and air compressor (single shaft)

About project : Pre-commissioning, commissioning, start up and operation.
Ancillaries department. Management and training of 10 Operators Team.
Procedures development. Punch List feedback to construction team.
Trouble shooting about malfunction.

Work:
- Units Translation of technical books and functional descriptions from English to French.
- Development and writing of operational instructions and working procedures.
- Pre-commissioning and commissioning from central control room and field.
- Checking all automatic setups. Modification with feedback from tests.
- SWAT (Soft-Ware Acceptance Test) about anhydrous ammonia storage and distribution. system. Safety point review, control screen (ABB Process Control System).
- Modification / Upgrade of working procedures.
- Checking Automatics sequences with SAMA DRAWA. HAZOP procedures added.
- Training probationer central control room operator (3) and field operators (8).
- Ancillaries department normal operations.
- Scheduled and emergency maintenance management with Ellipse system.
- Fire detection management, and first reaction with emergency response team.
- Tracking bugs and upgrade control loops with TaiJi PID from MATRIKON System.
- Isolation units and training activities.
- Tags all units of ancillaries department.


Activities and units started:
ORACLE ENGINEERING: Oil Fired Steam power plant

-3 x 85tph oil fired boilers (6400 kPag & 485 Deg C), each with a flue gas scrubber for particulate and SO2 removal. Boilers were upgraded to meet revised emission levels for Nox, Sox, particulate and CO.  This involved retrofitting new fans and particulate scrubbers; modifying the economiser to install selective catalytic reduction equipment; adding an anhydrous ammonia storage and distribution system for injecting ammonia into the boiler furnace and flue gas stream. (I did the SWAT review for this upgrade)

- 2 x 20MW steam turbines, with controlled extraction and admission steam systems.

- Exhaust steam condensing system and cooling towers.

- Micro filtration (4 x 170m3/hr train) and demineralised (3 x 155m3/hr train) water treatment plant.

- Boiler feed water system, HP feed pumps, deaerator, condensate system.

- MP steam system, contaminated steam from the HPAL process is converted to clean steam through a series of evaporators. The steam is then used by the process or as admission steam to the turbine and the 'dirty' condensate returned to the process.

- Integrated steam system with pressure reducing and desuperheating station for MP an LP process steam requirements and turbine bypass systems.

- HV & LV electrical systems, transformers, switchrooms, motor control command.

- Heavy Fuel Oil storage and distribution system, pumping and heating unit.


OUTOTEC: Sulfuric Acid plant (98%), (4500 t/day).

- Gas Source: Elemental Sulphur

- Sulfur burning system process with power recycled from oxidation reaction into Vanadium Pentoxide 4 stages converter. Oxidation reaction energy supply a steam drum (285t/h steam at 6500 kPa Working pressure)

- Sulfur melting and filtration unit.

- SO2 Unit which supply neutralization unit. (2 x25 mtpd liquid SO2)

- Cooling towers

Lime Kiln and Hydtration Unit: 989 000t/year of hydrated lime
- Na2CO3 production
- Hydrated lime
- Limestone stock unloading and management (SANDVIK Stacker)
Solid bulk handling system with conveyors and Stacker (SANDVIK: 1400 t/h), for coal, limestone and sulfur.
Raw, process and fire water supply system.
